The “Big Ash” job came about because the specified wood is Quarter Sawn Ash – and it was a BIG job.
Big in terms of time, energy, math and money. The client wanted contemporary styling, compatibility with the rest of the home, and all of it to be built as cabinets.
Most of the cabinetry is 24” deep to accommodate hanging. The 3-way mirror sections have shelves behind the doors for shoes and folded items. The large lower drawers serve as hampers. The island is on wheels, so clearances can be flexible. And it’s incorporated into an overall “dressing area” where the owners prepare for and retire from their daily schedules. |
